This design is one of my favorites in my portfolio. On this project I really wanted to break out of my comfort zone and do something different. Up to this point I was designing a lot of pink cutesy things, I really feel like my design style changed a lot after this project. I also worked a lot with different types of papers and textures in the finished product.

For this project I continued to play with textures and ink splatters in my design. I wanted to simplify the cards by only using the hats for the face cards. Picking the correct font for the numbers and letters was the hardest part of the project.

For this project, we were required to create a magazine for use on the Ipad. This image shows the cover design I did for the fictional Magazine "Photo World". I also created multiple inside spreads that had effects added for the Ipad viewer.
The piece with the playing cards is a very good example of rhythm. The first and third card are symmetrical and the second and fourth card are asymmetrical. Also, all the colors are used throughout all the cards and the fact all the shapes have a 'melting' quality pulls them together quite well.
